This short course is for learners who need to improve their ability to communicate in their place of work when socialising, telephoning, presenting, taking part in meetings and negotiating.

This course provides students with an understanding of the definition and scope of entrepreneurship and an understanding of potential barriers and resources available to business start-ups.
Students will explore the personal characteristics of entrepreneurs and the role and importance of small businesses to the economy.
Students will learn about the balance of risk and reward in starting a new venture and they will investigate and reflect on their own entrepreneurial and enterprising characteristics.
By the end of the course learners will be able to write a comprehensive business plan for their own business idea, know how to access funding, understand the legal and financial aspects that will affect their business start-up and have the tools to start setting up their own business venture.
Green Business
This course will equip students with the tools they need to transform a green business idea into a viable business plan.

​Learners will study successful green businesses, evaluate and compare organisations' corporate social responsibility programmes, discuss and analyse consumer demand for green products.

How contracts are formed through valid offer and acceptance.

This introductory short course in Human Rights Law discusses human rights and the rights and obligations of the state and individuals.

This short course will introduce learners to the foundation principles of the legal system related to the protection of the environment.
Students will explore UK and international environmental law relating to the protection of land, air, waste, water, wildlife and biodiversity.

This employability skills course is designed to support individuals successfully gaining employment, progressing in a chosen field or intending to pursue further studies.
The course content is up-to-date and in line with the skills needed in today's employment market, whilst meeting the needs for education programmes and traineeships.
Equality & Diversity for Business
Equality training is a concept that came into being around the same time as the introduction of the Equality Act 2010.

Fashion Business
This course is a broad introduction to the business side of fashion through key topics such as fashion cycle, retail and distribution, fashion branding , digital and social media marketing, fashion brand communication, buying and merchandising, fashion entrepreneurs and the future of fashion.
Modern British History
This course investigates the state of Britain in 1945 at home and abroad as it faced challenges of post-war reconstruction.

Learners will study the radical initiatives in health with the creation of the NHS, welfare provision and in education.
Students will also investigate Britain's position on the world stage and the decline of the British Empire.
History of the Atlantic Slave Trade
This course introduces students to the history of the transatlantic slave trade (a period between 1500 - 1900), slavery and the experiences of enslaved people in the Caribbean. Learners will explore different types of historical sources and evidence of slavery.
The course focuses on how enslaved people in the Caribbean resisted and fought against slavery. Students will study the anti-slavery movement and the events leading up to the 1807 Slave Trade Act.
This short course encourages learners to examine and critically analyse the long-lasting social, cultural and economic impact the slave trade has had on the islands in the Caribbean and the European countries involved in the transatlantic slave trade.
The Scramble for Africa
In this short course learners will investigate the period from 1881 - 1914, a period of time historians refer to as the scramble for Africa, also known as the partition of Africa.
Learners will explore the reasons and drive for colonies in Africa, the problems partition of regions caused, different styles of colonial governance, resistance and the fight for independence.
Multicultural Britian
This course explores Britain and the influx of immigrants pre and post World War II. Students will learn how diversity brought by immigration has influenced, enriched and shaped modern British culture, laws and politics.
This course also promotes British values and cultural integration through food, art, music, literature and fashion.
Starting A Party Planning Business
This course will introduce learners to the skills that are required to start a small party planning business. Students will learn about the role of an event organiser and the tasks they carry out during the planning, organising and staging of the event.

Managing an event involves planning a suitable venue, organising equipment,
catering, liaising and making agreements with suppliers, keeping records and managing a budget.
​
Students will also learn about the law of contract and the major consumer protection laws and health and safety issues that need to be considered.

All successful event organisers reflect on the events they have staged, reviewing the success and lessons learned for improving the management of future events.
Exploring the World Through Literature
This course focuses on modern literature and explores the varied works of great writers from across the globe. Learners will examine different themes including identity, race, gender, religion, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, physical ability and family.
