How it works

Step 1 In a telephone conversation with a member of our team, we listen to you, what you would like to achieve and undertake an initial assessment. After our conversation, a learning plan will be drawn up, with realistic timelines to help you achieve your learning goals.

Step 2 - Book your free trail session 

Step 3 - Book your sessions that fit around your commitments. Sessions can be booked one by one or regularly for however long you like. All payments will be processed via our website using secure payment platforms.

  • Students will have one-to-one support and tutoring sessions from the comfort of your home 

  • Sessions helps build confidence in the classroom and improve grades 

  • Tutor and students can share documents and collaborate using virtual whiteboard and other e-tools

  • Students will have access to free resources to help reinforce learning 

  • Students  will have the same tutor for each session

  • Sessions are secure and safe and communications take place through trusted communication technologies and apps

  • Learning is flexible and tuition can take place online or in the comfort of your own home, which helps you save time and cut out travel costs. 

  • All tutors are experienced, qualified and DBS checked  

Cancellation policy

We understand that sometimes it may not always be possible to attend your pre-booked tutoring sessions. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session you must contact Lexington Learning by email 48 hours before your scheduled session.

You will be able to book another session subject to availability and will not incur a charge. Failure to contact Lexington Learning via email 48 hours before your scheduled session will result in you incurring the charge of the lesson. 

GCSE English



Service Description

Our qualified English tutors will focus on developing the tutee's reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in preparation for the English GCSE. The private tutor will also assist with homework, coursework, test and exam preparation. Some of the core areas of study include: Identifying and interpreting themes, ideas and information in a range of literature and other high-quality writing; reading in different ways for different purposes, and comparing and evaluating. Writing effectively for different purposes and audiences: to describe, narrate, explain, instruct, give and respond to information, and argue; selecting vocabulary, grammar and form. Selecting and organising information and ideas effectively and persuasively for prepared spoken presentations; planning effectively for different purposes and audiences; making presentations and speeches. Listening to and responding appropriately to any questions and feedback The five GCSE exam boards in the UK are AQA, CCEA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC. Schools may use some or all of these across various subjects. Our tutors are experienced across the five boards and are also well-versed in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
